Projects

OUR PROJECTS

For The One focuses on two main goals: rescuing and supporting underage Nepalese girls who have experienced abuse or trafficking, and investing in sustainable projects that strengthen education, community wellbeing, and economic opportunity across Nepali communities.

Sahas means “courage.”

It is the courage we see in every girl who comes to us.

Each girl carries a story no child should ever have to live through — trauma, sexual abuse, exploitation. Many have been told they are worthless. Many have learned to survive by becoming silent and invisible.

And yet, they are still children.

At The Sahas Project, we walk with trafficked and sexually abused minor Nepali girls long after rescue. Here, she is known by name. She is safe. She is treated with dignity. She is surrounded by steady love, guidance, and practical support as she heals, returns to school, rebuilds confidence, and begins to believe she has a future.

Our work also reaches into villages and families, helping reduce vulnerability so that fewer girls face the same harm.

When you partner with The Sahas Project, you are not just supporting recovery. You are helping a child rediscover her worth. You are choosing courage for a girl who deserves protection, hope, and a chance to dream again.

Because no child should have to be brave just to survive.

The Safe Home

Our Safe Home is more than a shelter. It is a doorway back to safety for young Nepali girls who have been pulled from the shadows of trafficking and abuse.

Within its walls, fear is gently replaced with security. Silence slowly finds its voice. Each girl is welcomed not as a case, but as a child with a name, a story, and a future worth fighting for.

Through deeply personalised rehabilitation and wholehearted, holistic care, we walk beside them as they rediscover trust, rebuild confidence, and begin to believe again that their lives can be bright, whole, and entirely their own.

The Genesis Abode is where healing turns into becoming.

For girls aged 16 and under who have stepped bravely beyond the Safe Home, it offers not just a roof, but a real family rhythm. Laughter in the kitchen. Homework at the table. Celebrated birthdays. Quiet reassurance after hard days.

Since opening its doors in January 2023, The Genesis Abode has been a place where trauma is met with patience, and fear with steady love. Here, wounds continue to mend while dreams begin to stretch their wings. Education becomes a pathway, not a pressure. Personal growth is nurtured with intention.

Workshops

In 2025, we shifted from awareness to action, empowering communities with practical skills that create lasting change. Our Community and School Workshops equipped children, women, and community members with knowledge and tools to address real-life challenges and improve well-being.

We also enhanced engagement through Day Celebrations and Interaction Programs, including International Children’s Day activities, child-focused discussions on ending child labour, and sessions on Case Management with NCRC. These initiatives created safe spaces for learning, dialogue, and participation.

This year, we conducted:

  • 8 Community Workshops - 293 participants
  • 4 School Workshops - 315 participants
  • 3 Day Celebrations / Interaction Programs - 406 participants

Topics covered this year included

  • Child Marriage, Child Labour, Cyber Crime, Child Helpline 1098
  • First Aid, Pelvic Organ Prolapse
  • Legal Literacy, Gender-Based Violence, Stress Management
  • International Children’s Day activities
  • Case Management discussion (with NCRC)
  • Child-focused talks on ending child labour

Expert-led sessions + community ownership = sustainable change. People gain tools, confidence, and voice to build safer, stronger futures.

Medical Camps

We run free medical camps in hard-to-reach, vulnerable communities to close healthcare gaps caused by poverty, distance, or lack of information.

Each camp provides:

  • Professional health check-ups & screenings
  • Free essential medicines
  • Health education on prevention and healthy living
  • Follow-up support for hospital visits or further treatment when needed

These camps also build trust and stronger community relationships.

This Year’s Impact:

  • Joint & Arthritis Camp – Dhapakhel, Lalitpur: 165 people helped
  • Women’s Health Camp (ovarian health, skin issues, joint pain & arthritis) – Bankatta, Chitwan: 251 people helped

We deliver timely care, spread health awareness, and support ongoing treatment—bringing real, lasting improvement to those who need it most.

We believe education and opportunity are the keys to breaking the cycle of poverty. Real change must come from inside communities, not from outside.

Our focus: Empower young people—especially from the highly marginalised Chepang community and other extremely poor or unsupported families—with:

  • Quality education
  • Practical life and leadership skills
  • Confidence to succeed

Instead of trying to change communities directly, we invest in the next generation of leaders. These youth grow into independent adults who can support their families, serve as positive role models, and drive real improvement back in their villages.

To help children actually stay in school and thrive, we also give holistic support to the most vulnerable families, including:

  • Food assistance
  • Medical care access
  • Housing help

By supporting both education and basic family needs, we help young people rise, lift their families, strengthen their communities, and create lasting change that lasts for generations.

Chepang

Education Scholarships

The Chepang Educational Scholarship is a lifeline for children born into generations of hardship. For families shaped by poverty and a nomadic way of life, consistent schooling can feel impossibly out of reach.

This program opens a different path. It provides access to quality English-medium education, steady support, and the stability many of these children have never known. Within the hostel, they find more than a bed and a desk. They find a family rhythm, a safe place to belong, and a dedicated mentor who walks closely with each child, guiding, encouraging, and believing in their future.

Here, cycles are gently broken. Potential is nurtured. And children who once stood on the margins are given the chance to step forward with confidence and hope ready to take hold of every opportunity that comes their way.

WHAT’S PROVIDED

  • 8 Children are supported with:
  • Private Education
  • Hostel Accommodation
  • Comprehensive Care
  • School Uniform
  • Seasonal Clothing
  • Medical Support
  • Safe and Stable Environment fostering Academic, Social and Emotional Growth

H.E.L.P.

Higher Education

For many young people, the dream ends at high school. Not because of ability, but because poverty draws a hard line across the future. When education stops, opportunity narrows, and families remain caught in the same cycle.

The HELP Program redraws that line. It gives determined students the chance to continue studying, to work part time, to grow in confidence and life skills, and to step into adulthood with purpose.

The vision reaches beyond a diploma. When these students graduate and step into their professions as teachers, nurses, doctors, and leaders, they return strength to the very communities that raised them. They support their families, bring awareness to critical issues, and model what is possible.

They do not simply build careers. They become catalysts of change, transforming their communities from within.

WHAT’S PROVIDED

  • Educational Loan
  • Sponsorship for housing and basic food
  • Job Placement Support
  • Life Skill Workshops
  • Scholarship Application Support
  • Citizenship Application Support

Sahayatri

Across two community schools, 70 vulnerable children are sponsored, each one carrying a story marked by loss, abandonment, or the quiet strain of single parent survival. Many are being raised by relatives who are doing their best with very little.

But this is more than sponsorship. It is community woven with intention. Through medical camps, awareness programs, and parent gatherings, we strengthen not just individual families, but the bonds between them. We create spaces where neighbours learn to stand for one another, where education is valued, where children are seen, and where hope is shared.

Together, they are not simply surviving poverty. They are rising from it, side by side, learning that when a community cares for its own, everyone moves forward.

WHAT’S PROVIDED

  • Children Sponsorships
  • Daily School Lunch
  • Uniform
  • School Books and Stationary
  • Clothing
  • Emergency Medical Treatment
  • Teacher Sponsorships
  • Community Awareness Programs
  • Teacher Training
  • Medical Camp
